To top it all: A nomination for the Belgian Publica Awards!<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Integration as a unifying factor of digital transformation<\/h2>\n<p>With 3 million customers, 175 municipalities, 30,000 kilometers of water supply and more than 1,500 employees, <a href=\"https:\/\/corporate.dewatergroep.be\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>De Watergroep<\/em><\/a> is the largest drinking water company in Flanders.<\/p>\n<p>Mid 2016, <em>De Watergroep<\/em> took the initiative to start an ambitious digital transformation process, with the main goal of improving operational excellence with the focus on social interest. This has led to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Faster response times<\/strong> to 3 million customers experiencing a leakage or malfunction in the more than 30,000 kilometers of water pipelines by digitizing the issuing of work instructions to service engineers.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Increased productivity<\/strong> for <em>De Watergroep&#8217;s<\/em> staff (1,500 people) through self-service solutions. From 6 to 8 productive working hours per day by removing waiting times and digitizing time-consuming administrative processes.<\/li>\n<li>Linking the new software systems and issuing the right data to different Front-End and Back-End systems through a <strong>new integration architecture<\/strong> connected to an API management platform.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>The Publica Awards nomination<\/h2>\n<p>The digital transformation process called &#8220;Integration as a unifying factor of digital transformation&#8221; has been nominated for the <a href=\"https:\/\/publica-brussels.com\/awards\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">2018 Publica Awards<\/a> in the Technology category.<\/p>\n<p>The Publica Awards are presented each year to the most innovative and original projects within the various sectors of the Belgian government.
