The DevOpsDays is a conference series with events all over the globe aimed at further improving the concepts of DevOps within the community. A dedicated group of core organizers provide advice, but the events themselves are run by local volunteers. The increasing importance of our tooling, the dependence on their ability to automate and potential damage when they don\u2019t work properly should make us think about repositioning our tooling strategy. Nowadays tools are an essential part and are getting more important every day for delivering high quality productivity. But why are we still handling them as non critical parts?<\/p>\n

We can probably all agree that at first instance it seems simple to select our favourite tools. We probably also know that it\u2019s actually a complex undertaking to avoid pitfalls and select your ‘Swiss knife’. Most companies are still struggling to find the best fitting toolset for their organisation, processes and technology stack. This struggle is caused by various legitimate reasons, and tools end up not being beneficial or never being used at all.<\/p>\n

During this presentation Arnold takes attendees on the journey of defining and refining an end goal, effectively learning from the things that matter and defining an Enterprise Tooling strategy. Together with the audience he will explore some typical pitfalls and practices that help to identify strengths and opportunities for organisations. After all we want to start being productive with our tools as early as possible.<\/p>\n
