Devoteam has a wealth of expertise in new development environments such as .NET and demonstrated that once again with a major ICT broker. To replace three obsolete systems, a new, advanced smart cloud solution was developed for this customer. On 12 September 2015 release 1.0 was rolled out, comprising a new portal, powerful functionality and the data from the old system. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The modern front-end was rapidly developed using the AngularJS framework, while employing an Agile\/Scrum methodology to shorten the time to market.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
The company’s previous platform, built on Java, presented significant scalability problems. Critically, it could not support the multiple tenants required for the broker’s planned expansion. To overcome this, we selected DotNetNuke (DNN) as the new content management system. This smart cloud solution was genuinely chosen for growth, offering the capability to host multiple domains within a single installation and allowing for rapid upscaling. Consequently, the load on the website will never again be an issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mobile Apps<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
On the server side, we exposed all functionality via the DNN Webservices Framework. This prepares the system not only for the website but also for future mobile apps. To ensure rapid results, our web services delegate intensive work to background processes using an internal EventBus. This guarantees the user-facing platform remains incredibly responsive, as every new instance of DNN adds more event handlers to the system. Consequently, scaling up the platform directly increases its power and ability to attain any desired performance level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
AngularJS<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
The new portal delivers three core functions for the broker. It manages job applications and offers, allows suppliers to provide candidates, and enables CV searches for recruiters. For the front-end, we utilised Ajax and the popular AngularJS framework. AngularJS is an intelligent technology that allows our in-house experts to build a powerful user interface within a very short timeframe. At Devoteam, we place a great deal of emphasis on that speed. We believe the time to market must be as short as possible, a goal our use of the Agile\/Scrum method also helps achieve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Fast, Versatile and Flexible<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
We have also integrated automated testing into the deployment process. Using Selenium, we test all adjusted website functionality against a regression test set, which guarantees the quality of each release. Overall, this is a truly contemporary smart cloud solution that meets all modern software demands for speed, versatility, and flexibility. The core architecture is now complete, allowing us to focus on continuous improvement. We aim to issue a new release with bug fixes and new functionality every two weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
