Funda\u00e7\u00e3o Jos\u00e9 Neves is a philanthropic foundation with a pioneering platform promoting employment in Portugal using Artificial Intelligence. The organisation is founded by Jos\u00e9 Neves, the entrepreneur behind Farfetch. The foundation aims to empower individuals with the knowledge and skills they need to thrive. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Challenge: Making Sense of a Mountain of Data<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Funda\u00e7\u00e3o Jos\u00e9 Neves embarked on an ambitious project called “Brighter Future.\u201d The Brighter Future Project creates a perfect match between people and their professional futures, according to their level of education. It promotes employment in Portugal through free and universal access to this digital tool. This tool provides the largest knowledge base on education, employment, and skills in Portugal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This involved gathering and analysing an enormous amount of data \u2013 over 200 million records from 2,500 sources! The challenge was to make this complex data accessible and understandable to a wide range of users. These could be students, job seekers, employers, and policymakers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Goal: A Clear Vision for the Future<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The project meets Funda\u00e7\u00e3o Jos\u00e9 Neves’s mission of contributing to Portugal’s development. It helps Portugal become a Country of knowledge through Education, providing innovative tools to develop Portugal\u2019s talent and potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new platform is a powerful tool in the hands of its various users \u2014 think of students, workers, employers, educational institutions, and policymakers, among others. It allows \u201cmatchmaking\u201d between the search for specific skills in the labour market and the various employability perspectives associated with careers and\/or training courses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Solution & Methodology: visualising data with Microsoft\u2019s Data Tools<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Devoteam, who specialises in data science, AI, and machine learning, was chosen to develop the Brighter Future platform’s data visualisation, modelling, and exploration aspects. Their expertise in transforming complex data into insightful visualisations and their experience using Microsoft Technology made them the ideal partner for this project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
