Devoteam partner AWS has announced the general availability of Amazon Elastic VMware Service (Amazon EVS). Amazon EVS provides the fastest path for enterprises migrating VMware workloads to AWS.
Why Act Now?
Analysts report that 80% of enterprises face VMware contract renewals within two years, with 74% exploring alternative cloud migration pathways. This creates a critical window for these organisations to plan strategically around their VMware workloads.
About Amazon Elastic VMware Service
Amazon EVS is ideal for organisations heavily invested in VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) licenses or those recently renewing with Broadcom. It provides a straightforward path to AWS for workloads that rely on VMware environments.
With Amazon EVS, organisations benefit from AWS scalability and agility while using familiar VCF software, avoiding significant retraining or operational disruption. The service is currently available in six AWS Regions, with further expansions planned shortly.
Customers can also utilise existing VCF license portability entitlements to ease the migration process.
We learned about Amazon EVS at reInvent 2024 and have been preparing for this with our new and existing customers ever since! We have seen a huge increase in demand for VMware migrations in the last few months so this announcement is perfect timing for our VMware customers looking to move workloads to the cloud. It accelerates migrations with a rapid, low-friction path to AWS whilst keeping familiar VCF tools and licences, so teams can move faster with lower training requirements.
Gaining internal business approval can be the biggest blocker – we are here to help our customers build a strong business case using generous AWS funding mechanisms. With so many renewals approaching, EVS turns a deadline into an opportunity to migrate at pace and benefit from AWS scale and innovation on day one. Devoteam is ready to guide you on that journey.
