The partnership between Devoteam and the Levallois Metropolitans Basketball Club has taken on a new dimension. After several years of collaboration, Devoteam is leveraging its AWS technological expertise to support the club’s sporting ambitions, particularly through artificial intelligence and data analysis.
With technology, we bring this ability to analyse and adapt the performance modality for the high-level athlete. AI provides useful performance in real-time, and allows us to combine passion for sport, performance and technology.

About Levallois Metropolitans Basketball Club
After a historic 2023-2024 season marked by the Blue Steelers’ French NM2 championship title, the LSC announced at the launch of the 2024-2025 French NM1 championship season the creation of a brand new professional team, the Levallois Metropolitans Basketball Club. The Metropolitans’ ambition is to reach the Playoffs and move up to Pro B. The LSC will rely on a Data and AI platform to meet these growth, performance, and visibility challenges.

Challenge
High-performance athletes are particularly receptive to numerical analyses that allow them to improve their performance. The technology developed in this partnership provides precise metrics, helps establish concrete objectives, and defines the actions needed to achieve them. The main challenge is to bring tangible added value to the club and its players by integrating this approach into a comprehensive vision of sporting performance.
Initial tests of the application developed by Devoteam have already produced surprising results. The team has discovered previously unknown performance factors by cross-referencing various data sets.
At a high level, it’s often the details that make the difference. Gaining 0.3 points in basket average over a season may seem minimal, but it could prove decisive in reaching the next division.

This tool operates in several key stages.
First, data is collected from various sources: box scores and performance trackers. This information is then stored and processed. Essential data prioritisation, streamlining, and cleaning are performed to ensure reliability. The platform draws on a three-year history of scores, league statistics, and individual player data.
Data visualisation is a key asset of this solution. It helps clarify and simplify complex information and personalise the approach according to the specific needs of staff and players while providing engaging content for fans. This visual representation also facilitates the precise identification of areas for improvement.
The integration of generative artificial intelligence adds an extra dimension to the analysis. This technology allows for optimised management of athletes’ peak forms and the identification of tactical patterns and the team’s strengths and weaknesses.
The ultimate goal is to transform these insights into concrete actions. The platform provides precise recommendations on roster rotations, playing styles, and how to manage key moments in a match. It also suggests tactical adjustments to exploit identified weaknesses in the opponent. One of the notable innovations concerns evaluating players’ defensive impact, which can now be measured using precise metrics—an aspect traditionally challenging to quantify in basketball.
